i think about this meme a lot
@joeycastillo haven't seen it. I like it, thanks for sharing. Forgive my ignorance but whose bust head is in front of Padmes face and what is its context?
@nilsreichert I’ll confess my ignorance and say I don’t know the context, other than to say that I saw it once on Reddit and it stuck with me: https://old.reddit.com/r/HistoryMemes/comments/r6s4ls/we_missed_a_step_you_guys/
We missed a step, you guys.

@joeycastillo @nilsreichert it's a (generic 3D rendered) venus. I think the conveyed meaning is the ancient greek had a orgies and figs
@slim @joeycastillo thank you! The intention came across anyway, but I do appreciate to know the details.

@slim @joeycastillo @nilsreichert
Portions of ancient societies were able to enjoy their orgies and figs because slavery was so prevalent in the past, #JustSayin

But pretty neat use of a meme

@joeycastillo where are my god damned figs

(i know where some of the orgies are but i can't dispute the notion that they're poorly distributed at best.)

@joeycastillo Best I can do you is Fig Newtons and Pornhub
@North honestly the way the future’s going, that sounds like a great deal

@joeycastillo we do, though, technically.

fresh fig.s (accompanying tables of data) are rampant in reports and presentation decks.

and every company, to lay off headcount, uses reorgynisation as an excuse.

@joeycastillo figs is here, waiting for orgies
@joeycastillo virgin where's my flying car vs chad where's my fig orgies
Specious notion

We should do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living.

James Conroy-Finn
@joeycastillo Nah, we did that when we barely had technology.
@joeycastillo Those who have time because they're unemployed can't afford orgies nor fresh figs. Those who have a job are so busy that they don't have time for figs and orgies. A handful of people do have time for figs and have occasional orgies but are busy competing with fellow billionaires and fucking the planet in the ass.
@nitot @joeycastillo the ancient Romans would have been fine with this class stratification
@mcoorlim One would hope that humanity had made some social progress in 2 000 years. Nope. CC @joeycastillo
@nitot @joeycastillo progress isn't a straight line - it's a maze, and it has it's dead ends, but we always have choices
@joeycastillo If getting fucked by the system counts, then sure, we do.

@joeycastillo I am reading this while eating a plate of figs, but that's definitely not something that happens every day.

I'd pass on the orgies, but it's not like I'd have the time for them anyway.

@joeycastillo with our global supply chain I can have figs anytime I want.
Unfortunately our damn puritan infected social construct has sunk the orgy availability.
That and the ones that are available.... I don't think I want to be in them.
@joeycastillo as my wife refers to them as the "old guard orgies" the rest of them just call them lemon parties.
@joeycastillo I wish i could afford figs lol
@joeycastillo I always kinda saw this "automatism vs leisure" effect as a labour variant of induced demand - the thing where e.g. More roads actually result in more cars making the roads less effective.
Replace roads with automatism and cars with people, and you see what I mean.
@joeycastillo This is what happens when you get distracted by jetpacks. You lose sight of what is really important.
@joeycastillo We’ll make our own society with fresh figs and orgies!
(figs = deutsch Feigen)
@joeycastillo Fortunately we now also have technology that can consume tons of figs as well as consummate at up to 10Mbs (mega-boinks per second).
@joeycastillo fun fact: the heart symboll never actuary came furom the heart. It was symbolized by a halved fig, which people in ancient times thought of as the symbol of fertility and passion. In the romantic period, christian Europeans redrew Jesus Christ with the symbolism of the Sacred heart and associated it with love, rather than pleasure and fertility. The heart has come a long way since its original meaning and symbolism :3
