came to share one my favorite excerpts from 'How to blow up a pipeline':

"To say that the signals have fallen on the deaf ears of the ruling classes of this world would be an understatement. If these classes ever had any senses, they have lost them all."

#climatechange #climateaction #quote

@blackholeness you're reminding me I really want to watch that film, thanks!
@sheislaurence I saw it recently and can really recommend it 🤠
@blackholeness any inspo for action back in the real world (other than blow up your local petrol station 😂 )?

@sheislaurence haha, I'd say it'll depend a lot on where you're located; but i'd definitely prioritize collective over individual action 🙂

Perhaps you're living near a climate action group that organizes rallies or demonstrations? You don't need to go out on the streets yourself, but these groups could often benefit from "backend" help, like setting up safe tech and/or digital infrastructures for their organising? I think people in tech have lots of skills to offer to the climate movement!

@blackholeness in theory yes, but it requires a certain maturity for #climatemovements to even start considering tech, unless it is where they started. Most local community movements are not ready for it.
@sheislaurence yes, I do agree with you. But it's so necessary! I find that a lot of (young? novice?) actions groups are quite vulnerable because of their lack of tech skills. So it is definitely worth trying to strengthen them on that front? Oh well... it's the struggle of my life, really! 🙈
