I'm trying really hard to take the U.K. government's urgent review of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods seriously. I really am.

But having watched the U.K. government lose every fight they've ever gotten into, I can't help but smile at the idea of them going to war with some bollards in the street. And, Also, losing.

@ProjectFearlessness The odds are stacked against them winnings a fight against bollards.
@blabberlicious
They are going to lose against the bollards, but as a distraction from their complete failure on all other green policies it buys them some time. Maybe all of the 10 minutes it takes to check and find that all the reviews of LTNs done so far have been overwhelmingly positive.
@ProjectFearlessness It’s been so transformative on my street. I remember during the pandemic, a few gammon jamboree marches from some outraged residients.
But now, I can’t think of a single person I know who thinks it hasn’t worked. The cycle lanes are also game changing.
@blabberlicious Yes, your review of LTNs is the same as almost everybody else. Personally as a cyclist I love them, I feel a sense of relief that there are at least a few streets I can ride down without worrying about motorists trying to kill me.
@ProjectFearlessness I live in Tooting Bec, London. Cycling down into town was akin to mad max 2. That bit of road has one of the highest casualty rates in London.
@blabberlicious It's a daily hazard. I think we're now on Mad Max 6: Tina says cycle lanes in the Thunderdome are too expensive and inconvenient.

@ProjectFearlessness Yes, not a good look to advocate for the deaths of children, be it from #AirPollution, #ClimateBreakdown or being hit by an oversized vehicle. Photo credit #DarrenCullen, www.spellingmistakescostlives.com/

@sflkirk We've already had LTNs reviewed locally by councils and they all come out overwhelmingly positive. The government review won't be any different. For this reason, among others, I can't take the U.K. government seriously any more. All we have here is one big desperate distraction technique where an actual government should be.
