In case I should setup a server the coming month and put up a fedi instance, then which software would you prefer.

Short about the rules on the instance.

All #CloudFlare , #Amazon , #Google and any other #cagemafia fedi servers will be banned, once they got revealed.

Will try to have #mypdns #dev team to write a #addon that forces installation of @mg mitigator on all user account.

#Privacy ans #Blacklist maintenance will be our focus point, but not logging free, but kept at as minimal as possible to track bad things. Prior concept was within 24 hours from rotation, will try to do the same.

Posting cat's is off limit... @JerryMouse is a mouse and do not believe cats are funny or sweet in any way.

Religious related accounts will be banned and asked to move else where. Why, there are nothing that can be compared in the reason for killing billions of people like #religion, I don't support war nor #killing Just look up in your history book of open your TV and watch the news. Period not debatable, you can talk about religion in general and for what is going on in this world.

adult contents will be accepted, but not at the big distribution central as it will eat up space fastly.
If anyone would like to use the server as that, they will have to pay there part of the server.

Primary topic should be about #internet privacy while #Internet #security (#infosec) which seems to be the topic on infosec.exchange.

We will unlike previous mentioned instance NOT just ban people, we will try to talk with them and as good as possible tell them if we are unsatisfied about some if there actions, we would try to rule out misunderstanding.

Our #GOC ( #CodeOfConduct ) will remain the same as any other My Privacy DNS activities https://0xacab.org/my-privacy-dns/matrix/-/blob/master/CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md

UPDATE 1:
Have invested in the server, and yes there are room to spare for a CF free fedi server.
It's now all of you who would like to be on a CF free server to cast your #vote

So, I felt like sharing my immediate thought on this, which is to suggest that you look into helping out on existing servers before making your own. I feel like I see a lot of servers show up, stick around for a few months, and have some problem that puts them under. Even if it does stay, more servers means more server connections have to be made: larger servers may have more overall cost, but per user, they are cheaper.

Unless you've got some sort of niche you're going to fill for a bunch of people, or you're making a private server for just you and a couple close friends, you might be better off just putting that time and money into a server you're already established on.

@JerryMouse @mg @JerryMouse @mypdns Why isn’t Pleroma among the choices?

@tirifto @mg @mypdns @[email protected] for 2 reasons

  • My personal choice between Akkama and Pleroma, I choose Akkoma
  • For my account on a Pleroma server I have to restore my personal settings every time I login, as I do NOT store cookies... This means they using cookies, to at minimum storing your personal choices, I don't trust that, they should store my settings within my account like everyone else.
  • @JerryMouse @mg @mypdns @JerryMouse Fair enough! Thank you for the answer; I didn’t know others did that differently. x)
    @tirifto @mg @JerryMouse @[email protected] your welcome and question usual deserves answers when possible 😈

    Q: Why did you not install #mastodon as it won the #poll

    A: I try many times, and spend hours trying to solve the puzzle where #nginx kept getting error 500 when it tried to access the \@backend, and a several other issues.

    Then I decided to go back to my own, in general for posting, favorite #Akkoma , This said I do acknowledge mastodon in many ways is a easier tool and better tool when it comes to the reading and fedi part. A big lack in the default of akkoma, is the ability to set which #language you only like to see in the "Live feeds"

    The bottom line is, to also have time to maintain the #blacklists on https://mypdns.eu.org/, I had no other options then moving to akkoma.
