How many here struggle with fear, helplessness, and worse, depression in the face of #GlobalWarming?

I know I have.

What have you done to allay your #ClimateAnxiety?

3) Interesting to see this article from EuroNews acknowledging the problem of #Ecoanxiety.

While it’s important to be realistic about the #ClimateChange situation, it’s equally important to understand that things are changing in many areas for the better. We need that change to be faster, but also to dispel the notion of #AllIsLost that can paralyze us and drove us into #depression

4) A story from my backyard which illustrates the regenerative power of nature when local people care about their waterways. #TheBronx used to be a byword for urban blight not just in New York and America, but the whole planet

In dense #urban environments, all space is contested. It’s clear that #NewYork is discouraging the use of private cars. There is a lot of sensitivity surrounding private car use in America and so politicians have to tread carefully.

@mnutty @irishtimes A friendly Irish lady from a B& B gave me once a cutting from her Fuchsia. These days I grow 5 of them. All of the same Irish cutting.

@mnutty Good public transport is essential in rural and suburban areas. Cars should have to be essential anywhere.

Of course, I realise we have to deal with realities!

@Steveb

It's not that #PublicTransit does not belong in rural communities, it's just more likely that it needs to be supplemented by private cars

@mnutty It's worth reminding people that BEVs pre-date internal combustion. In other words, it is the older technology, and was driven out of the market by internal combustion.

In reality, there's a good chance it happens again. Once zero emissions internal combustion engines become viable, it is the BEV that no longer makes sense, not the other way around.

@Hypx

We sit at an interesting point in time where engine tech is up for grabs for the first time in over 100 years. There is a lot of money being spent to enhance efficiency and outcomes are uncertain. The one certainty is that disruption is taking place

@mnutty Yes. But the future won’t be conventional BEVs. That one is a repeat of history.
