Marie-Claire Messouma is a creator of links, between cultures, countries, generations, and materials, mixing in her works the natural and the industrial, the precious and the common, thus sublimating the ordinary. Masha Reva na Instagramie: Last time when I’ve seen Ukraine.I took these photos from the car, on my way from Uzhgorod to Berlin yesterday .We packed our van with around 150 works we did with Ivan during last month and started our way at 5 AM. The route ran through beautiful serpentine road in Carpathian Mountains .We drove more than 1000 km in one day.Stepping out of the car in Berlin after 12 hours ride felt surreal, after two month in Ukraine witnessing the war I can’t believe that peaceful life still exists. But it does.Just 1000 km away , half of the day ride from constant air raid alerts and bombing people are living their lives and I can only hope that they would never feel the same as I do, as all Ukrainians are .But honestly I would like them to know that the war is closer than they think . And the difference between peaceful sky and sky full of danger is crucial. The landscape changed along the way and I can feel that my heart forever remained in Ukraine, under it’s open sky. It stayed with my land and its people who definitely don’t deserve being killed and tortured by russians like any other human beings but are brave enough to fight back .I know that humanity has a power to stop this war, people have the power to demand it.Please do it in any possible way.See you at our exhibition Under The Open Sky , 28.04 at 17.00 at @ngoro_ngoro It’s a charity event initiated to help Ukraine in its fight for freedom.
