A special #myindiegameofthemonth from May'23 is #Bosorka by #sengigames from #Ukraine - a beautiful action roguelike inspired from Ukrainian folklore and released 14th April 23. Bosorka, or bosorkania means a witch in Ukrainian Carpathians and this game is a breath of fresh air with slavic mythology representation in a bit more bright light comparing to the most popular Witcher series.

Bosorka is an exciting action roguelike where a young witch saves the world from insidious and cruel demons. Combine runes, master a variety of brooms, and try all possible and impossible spells until you gain enough power to fight evil.

It's a short game, I mananged to complete the story in 2h, but haven't discovered even a 3rd broom! So there is more into it. Bosorka is basically a witch in Ukraine. And you are flying a broomtick here, yes 😍

Bosorka

It's an action rogue-like, with a beatifully crafted big maze-like locations - each different and with its challenges. You need to find a boss to complete it, which is not straightforward, while discovering, defeating mobs, collecting gold and buying power-ups. You gonna need it.
At first easy, it teaches you fast that diying is what easy here. Even camp fire used for checkpoints can hurt you. Got in between those islands - boom! Damage. And you haven't even met an enemy yet. Every run you will decide on your build. Collecting gold, you distribute it - buying runes to power you up, a companion to help, a spell (which are consumables) or change amulet with special ability. You unlock new stuff randomly when buying. Then you attack mobs and roll around
Bosses here are both challenging and fascinating! They come from Ukrainian folklore, so you will probably see something new for yourself and I love it. I would appreciate a bit more introduction though, as there is quite something to tell about every one of them.
The game can use some balance though, on one of the runs I killed Mara boss within 5 seconds, being on "x3 attack" and with poweful companion I bought after level 1. A bit overpowered for a mid game. Chornobog also took me 10 secongs then. That was weird.
One more thing that I love about this game is that you travel in between locations with a use of wells
Nevertheless for all above it's a forgiving game to an experienced rogue, so I would say it's more to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery and mystic slavic atmosphere. I definitely recommend it! It's 100% made with love. Well done,
