Towards the end of yesterday's trike ride with the BUG I felt my neck rest get wobbly on one side and then felt a sharp stabbing pain in my neck.
When we stopped I checked it out and found that one end of the plastic back plate that holds the foam cushion had snapped right off.
When I bought the trike in late 2016 the builder advised me only to get a neck rest if I really needed one. I found that as I have the seat reclined a fair way I really did.
I originally made my own with some aluminium tube, hose clamps, a piece of a nylon cutting board, a piece of towelling, and a piece of foam. It worked well but looked pretty rough!
The neck rest is a 'Finer Recliner' that I purchased in Jan 2018 for 175 USD. It is a very comfortable neck rest but this is the second time it has broken.
Last time, I had to get the bracket that clamps to the trike seat welded when it cracked and the neck rest sagged to one side.
I've glued it together with 'all plastics' super glue but I think I will have to reinforce it as well.
