@[email protected] Thank you for mentioning this great study!

My vision deteriorated for several months after my 2nd Covid infection, and my eyes hurt when watching from left to right. After reading this article and looking certain things up, I think it must have been neuritis optica!

Mind you, after my first infection I got all sorts of B12-deficiency symptoms, which made me suspect that there was a demyelinating process going on.

@[email protected] I know what B12-deficiency and demyelination looks like because I have had a serious B12-deficiency for years a long time ago.
I am still getting methylcobalamin injections up to this day. But after that first Covid infection I upped the frequency. Despite that, I still have neural symptoms from that first infection, and I doubt it will ever improve.

This article confirmed my suspicion that demyelination and Covid are connected.

@[email protected] On Twitter I've seen others complain about sudden vision problems after a Covid infection too. Many experience symptoms that could fit well into a B12-deficiency.

(For those that do not know: B12 has a role in the myelin formation, it is essential for the preservation of the myelin sheath around nerve cells. When the myelin sheath gets degraded, electrical signals are no longer transmitted quickly and efficiently and all sorts of symptoms can occur.)

@[email protected] Of course, this connection between Covid and demyelination does not mean that B12 could solve the symptoms.
