I'm always posting stuff about our puppers Zelda, so I figured I'd drop one of some of my old computer hardware that's kinda neat. This is a Syquest 3.5" 270MB removable cartridge drive from 1994! It's got a SCSI interface on the back, and built in power supply. It still works flawlessly, although at SCSI1 speeds, but ya know what, it's really fun to use and be able to store things on, even if just for novelty sake!

@harvestmalletus I had one of those on a BBS that I used to run. Or, a friend let me run on his hardware while he was working offshore.

The head crashed onto one of the cartridges inside it...and he didn't get back from offshore for another 3 months...and I had no car.

So the head kept crashed against the disk for those 3 months.

Suffice it to say, drive toast. And the groove was deep enough on the disc in the cartridge to lock your fingernail into it.

@LeoBurr Ooof yeah, some of them certainly did have issues with that. Ha, you ran a BBS, that's awesome! I did too at one point, nothing too special, just a little one running on a Commodore 128D. I'll be posting more old computer gear in the next few days I think! Should be fun!
