rainer@ohai just wanted to let y'alls know that the toot translation API endpoint seems to be down. trying to translate a tweet results in a 503.
ohai.social team@rainer This happens when attempting to translate a language/text that is not supported by deepl.com, the translation service we use. Definitely agree there should be a better error message from Mastodon though.
@rainer Actually I take it back -- Turns out our usage quota for this month on the free tier of Deepl's API is full. We'll see if we can update to a paid plan, otherwise it should start working again at the start of next month.
