Does anyone know of any good pre-doctoral fellowships for first to second year #Epidemiology PhDs (that is, pre candidacy/dissertation)? #PublicHealth, #Microbiology, and #MolecularBiology options are also welcome. Thanks.

@cecirahim What country? I know in the US the big one is the NIH F31. If you're at an institution with an NIH training grant see what topics it covers and if they are taking T31 applicants (I was on a T32 for most of my post-doc, the grant was for "host/pathogen disease research", I did chemical biology, but doing that on Mtb was close enough to on topic).

The big caveat with NIH grants is that you have to be a US citizen (which sucks, the point is make more good scientists from everywhere!)

@cecirahim Also the big first year ones to apply for are the NSF graduate research fellowship (I forget the name) and the DoD fellowship (it's called the NDSEG this one is weird, my sister had it and her PhD is in *psychology* so don't let the money source put you off, they fund a lot of different stuff).
@SRLevine Hey, thank you so much for this!! I will definitely be looking into these resources.
