I've got it into to my tiny mind that i want an Apple TV. Mostly to access Apple Music and Atmos tracks and Classical but even 2nd hand the 4k boxes (which you need for Atmos) keep their price (damn you Apple). Maybe I'll find one under a bush (I found some discarded (stolen?) broadcast video equipment under a bush once a *very* long time ago. #Gadgets #music #ForgetAboutIt #StopBuyingShit

@emsquared As someone who uses Apple TV, if you’re already in the ecosystem, they’re great. Mine is an older HD model, not 4K, but my TV is only 1080p so it doesn’t matter, and it’s absolutely rock solid still.

I stream PC games to it over WiFi from my wife’s PC up in the office, and it’s flawless.

@DJDarren I'm not a TV watcher. I literally only want one to access Apple Music, Stream lossless, enjoy a few surround mixed tracks (atmos and spatial) and the only way this is possible is via Apple hardware (typically) and any of the 4K capable boxes. Good to know that they're reliable. Annoyed that I have to buy into the eco-system but that's the way it goes.

@emsquared Oh, in that case a 4K will be spot on for you.

My ecosystem comment is more around the fact that you can AirPlay from Apple things to ATV, and it works as a hub for their smart home stuff.

But for simply accessing AM and playing it out through speakers (or BT headphones) ATV will be perfect.

@DJDarren Yeah. I'm not an Apple user per se these days (I'd love an M1, M2, M3 (yeah right. Are they even out yet?) desktop but maybe I'll get a 2nd user M1 at some point but that's all I need it for so hopefully I can now get a 2nd hand one without it costing too much.
