This abandoned factory produced hand-blown hollowed glass, initially producing glass used to make petroleum lanterns. The huge contraption that dominates these photos is a ring furnace.

Industrial ruins are often fascinating places
@ObsidianUrbex I used to live in a town surrounded by abandoned steel works. Super eerie.
@ObsidianUrbex I'm following the "rust" hashtag for the programming language of the same name, but I absolutely welcome fascinating pictures of abandoned factories.
@crenfrow
Oh nice, a bit of a detour into decay is never a bad thing 🖤📷🙃
@ObsidianUrbex Wow, getting Heart of Glass vibes. Great shot!
@fatkat
Oh I'm not sure what that is, so will have to look into it. Happy to hear you enjoyed the photo 🙏
@ObsidianUrbex It's a Werner Herzog movie. One of his fiction pieces sans Kinski. It's about a German village's special glass and how it's sort of tied to the town. Most of the cast is hypnotized for their parts except for a seer character. Weird performances. Interesting movie.
