Hi everyone!!

My name is Juan and I'm a big fan of #OpenSource and #FreeBSD in particular. #Linux is part of my day job, but I wish I could introduce some alternatives to my company to show how powerful and flexible #BSD systems in general are!

I'm also interested in home automation (honestly any kind of automation) and being able to do that exclusively using #BSD is something I wish to accomplish in the near future.

Thank you @stefano for this amazing project and I hope this keeps growing!

@DianeBruce @jcamos @stefano I keep thinking it would be fun to have an #illumos / #sunos oriented server, but I hardly imagine there’d be many users. But maybe there are more #mnx & #oxide fans than I imagine.
But we’ve all got to follow the BSD communities since that’s were a bunch of the exciting ZFS, Bhyve &c work is happening

@DianeBruce @jcamos @stefano Can we even get mastodon and dependencies running on #9front? I mean, I love acme, but #plan9 from user space is all I have time for any longer.

I certainly don’t have time to build a new activitypub server into a virtual file system or whatever the native feeling impl would look like.

@josephholsten @jcamos @stefano I have no idea. I liked what I saw years ago about plan9 but have yet to put up even a VM to try it.
