llewelly@TetZoo has a short article up arguing the Kleinmachnow animal looks an awful lot like a boar, and boar are common in that part of Germany. Much more likely than a lion. I will confess to hoping it turns out to be a bear, but it looks more like a boar than a bear, and a bear would need to be wandering far afield.
So it's probably a boar.
