When you were going to bed, but you notice a NewJeans Video and then start reading about 2nd Century AD era Greek myths. Seriously, what even is my life!?

NJ have dropped the 3rd in their arthouse move extravaganza, and it places the painting 'Cupid and Psyche' by François-Édouard Picot as a central visual reference with the NJ girls who I think are actually angels rather than sprites. So there's an obvious real and forbidden love theme going on here, and Hoyeon is a representation of Cupid. (Suggested in Side A). But who is Tony? I have so many questions!

I need more sleep before I can process this!

@pixelcats Cupid fits for Hoyeon, I guess. My first instinct was that NJ might be the dates, but it doesn’t quite fit, as there are too many of them. If Hoyeon were psyche, they could be a representation of the trials she faced, but agree side A more strongly implies Cupid

@pixelcats could Tony be Zeus? It was Zeus who allowed the wedding between Psyche and Cupid and declared it absolved Cupid of all those sordid affairs he’d instigated…

@rLok If the unnamed man Hoyeon is with is Psyche (which makes sense to me - suggested in the bed/mirror scene and matches the painting), then I don't think Tony can be Zeus, because he splits them up in the crosswalk scene. .. In 'Metamophoses' Zeus eventually makes Psyche immortal so they can be together, right?

@rLok Aphrodite was the one against the relationship between Cupid and Psyche (sends her off on the trials that end in the epic quest for Persephone's box of beauty cream). But I don't think that fits either.

*Sighs* .. my Greek mythology knowledge is so patchy .. so many questions! We need a Cupid expert!
