@simonboba tja, kanskje, men er ikke i bruk på bokmål og knytter seg kanskje mest til tanke og hukommelse og da blir det for spesifikt i denne sammenhengen. Man må kunne bruke ordet i sammenhengen hvor «mind» er en kontainer, noe er I «mind, så «mind» er et avgrenset domene, men akkurat hvor avgrenset er åpent for debatt, «the content of our minds», «how far does our minds extend?», «are tools of thought and memorization part of mind or not?» osv.

@MaryPot sure, it’s related to philosophy of mind (which is usually translated into bevissthetsfilosofi), with questions like “What is the relation between mind and brain”, “does the mind extend to and include stuff outside of the brain, like use of tools, technologies, environments?”

Those are the ones I can come up with off-hand.
As with most non-physical things, each culture has their own set of nuances and ranges where those nuances are relevant.
When translating, I find it more important to convey the meaning of what is said, rather than the precise dictionary translation of each word.

Jeg kommer ikke på noe bedre ord enn "sinn", evt. "ånd" i mer poetisk kontekst (mind over matter -> ånd over materie).
Uansett må du vel ta med en ordliste i artikkelen/boka, for å forklare hva du mener med sinn (og bevissthet osv).
Hvordan oversetter du "cognition"? Jeg måtte slå opp for å skjønne det engelske ordet, det ser ut som sanseinntrykk + læring + erfaring (+ fordommer + innbildning?)
