You could be required to have a particular phone by your employer, or have bought the phone prior to learning new information that wouldâve stopped you from making that purchase. Would have to be a pretty big reason to throw away a perfectly good phone. Existing in systems and using them, before critiquing them seems like a good way to understand their flaws

1. I have friends who are in the Apple ecosystem and I want no part in it based on my limited experience with Apple devices and what I see Apple doing in the news.
2. I don't need to visit North Korea to say that they have an oppressive government. In the same way, I don't need to use an iPhone for a year to understand that they are extremely anti-consumer.
@clayrosenthal @barubary @Gotterdammerung @yogthos And if you're using an iphone for work, I'm perfectly fine with that. My problem is with people like my friend group who seem to think that Apple is the greatest tech company there is and that free(as in freedom) software is just worse.
@tkk13909 @barubary @Gotterdammerung @yogthos ok sounds like you just have beef with some friends of yours. Itâs not a catch all gotcha to say someone using an iPhone canât criticise it from an iPhone.
And I didnât say existing in a system and using it is the only way to critique, itâs just one of the best. You can say you think North Korea is oppressive, but you are probably less informed on the details than an actual North Korean
