1/2 The next crisis in #Finland?

Might be a #ConstituionalLaw -crisis.

Four opposition parties want to intermit the summer break of the #parliament to have a #ConfidenceVote about the racist minister Riikka #Purra. And the fifth one is open for it, too.

Prime minister Petteri #Orpo said yesterday, that "there's no need for that".

However, our constituional law says that the #government and it's ministers must have the confidence of the parliament.

@HannaEsmeralda_ I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but...

...we need more pressure towards RKP/SFP whose hard-built reputation as liberal-minded, minority-friendly party is melting away faster than a snowman in midsummer.

They are the only party in government taking serious damage to their (former) reputation.

@Loukas @ReimanSaara Most of us are shocked that they even started the negotiatons, and there has been several profile-members that has publicly left the party.

The confidence vote of Purra would be a pressure for RKP/SFP/SPP; now there is already talks about the racist writings of Purra in 2019, so RKP could not hide behind that matter, that the writings of her are 15 years old.

@HannaEsmeralda_ @ReimanSaara The same thing happened with Swedish Liberalerna. The social-liberals resigned and now the party is controlled by the rightwing. It will now only survive another election by getting tactical votes from the conservatives.

@Loukas @ReimanSaara Yup. RKP already has a problem, that it's voters are one of the oldest among the Finnish parties, and now it is especially the young / youngish members that are dissapointed. So RKP's acts are truly self-harming.

They are not stupid. They gambled -quite possibly in order to protect their voter base from being targeted by Basic Finns. That gamble has already been lost, but will they admit it while there is still something they can save?

@ReimanSaara @HannaEsmeralda_ but the Basics want to end Swedish education. How could RKP voters consider voting for them?
