Bay Area pop punk band The Mr. T Experience release their debut LP, “Everybody's Entitled to Their Own Opinion”

It’s been fun watching this band evolve from this debut and through their creative peak in the mid-90s. From the start, MTX has always been a bubble gum power pop kind of punk band, singing about failed relationships, or not having one.

This album, along with their 1989 EP “Big Black Bugs Bleed Blue Blood” were regular tracks in my playlist. It’s just fun, simple, straightforward music without pretense.

Favorite track is “Danny Partridge”, about the arrest of former child star Danny Bonaduce (The Partridge Family).

@Defiance I loved that album when it came out, players it to death. And then they came through on tour the next summer and they were awesome. Never really kept up with their output after that for some reason but I probably should check it out.
@caravan After Big Black Bugs... I also kinda lost track too. I think their high point is 1997s "Revenge Is Sweet And So Are You". I'd start there if you need to revisit them. Great album from start to finish.
@Defiance thanks. I should probably give the first one a spin too. It’s been years.

@Defiance I used to jam Big Black Bugs Bleed Blue Blood on my radio show in the 90s.

One time I played my mom a recording of my radio show and she said "You used to love that song when you were a kid." I was totally confused, I had no idea the song I was playing was a Seasame Street cover. Heh.

@Smurph Haha, awesome! Covering a Sesame Street song, and on the 2nd track, was indeed a great sign. I would play this album on my show too. Most played track for me was most likely End of The Ramones. I still love that song.
