maybe it's because #AmazonDay brings out the dumbest qualities in people, but

there's something really deeply screwed up about your mental model of the world if you recognize the *systemic harms* that amazon, doordash, google, etc... have done to decimate local businesses and deprive people of more sustainable options, but you also project individual blame (and abuse) on people who can't get things they need from anywhere else (for whatever reason that you don't need to know or police)

obviously if you have other options and you can take them, then do!

but amazon wouldn't be the trillion-plus dollar company it is today if they didn't effectively narrow all of our options for many things to (meaningfully) just amazon.

that's how monopoly works. they reshaped and restructured the world to make all the moves that players try to take pay out to the monopolist anyway.
