Dr. Finn Rehling — Professur für Naturschutz und Landschaftsökologie

He has just returned from his expedition to Beijing and #BEF_China ✨🇨🇳 where we study together with over 30 researchers from Germany, Austria and China how the diversity of #trees structures complex trophic interaction networks 🌿🐦🐝 @multitroph

MultiTroph DFG Project

MultiTroph is a multi-disciplinary project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) that started in October 2022.

MultiTroph
In #BEF_China, he studies whether the diversity of trees affects the decomposition of animal #carcasses and #decomposer diversity. Not nice for the 👃 and potentially 🤢🤮 But don't worry, we show only nice photos here 😉 @multitroph
During his PhD, he modelled the effects of seed-dispersing animals on the life cycle of plants, and showed the importance of common birds for the natural regeneration of #Bialowieza forest in Poland 🌲🐦🌳

He also investigates how to reduce conflicts between #NatureConservation and #RenewableEnergies. The findings and recommended actions for practitioners in Germany will soon also be available in Natur und Landschaft! #Outreach #ScienceCommunication
