Caz Mockett@Gabislak there really is no one-size-fits-all. It very much depends on what you/your son like to build! Architecure? Cars? Spaceships? Pirates? You may find rebrickable.com useful as you can look up an inventory of each set (with pictures of the parts). It is a bit of a disaster if you’re not logged in (ads all over the place) but fine if you create a free account 😃
@cazmockett We're really into building animals and spaceships right now. Rebrickable looks like what we need, I'll have a closer look. I can see that it gives MOCs based on a set but do you know if it's possible to do it the other way around? Have the website recommend a set that contains most of the pieces based on a MOC?
