Spent the day at the St Jacobs Farmers' Market for an upcoming column. Of course I got apple fritters. It was a +40 min wait (with the queue stretching outside the main building, across the courtyard to the next building. But I got my two fritters...which magically turned into three!

While waiting to place my fritter order, the woman behind me complained about Threads: how her feed is filled with people she didn’t follow and while she hasn’t yet posted anything she’s getting skeevy @ mentions already. I turned around and said “I don’t mean to eavesdrop, but it’s a mess.”

THEN after we waited 40+ min to get to the till, a Millennial asked me (and the people behind me) if we could place her order because she didn’t want to queue up.

Everyone said no, with the people behind me saying we all waited and it’s unfair to everyone who’s waiting.

She said “but I have kids!”

To which someone replied “so do we, and we’ve been waiting in line!“

The woman was not pleased that her entitled whinging wasn’t getting her anywhere.

@cardamomaddict I cannot deal with the stockyard at St. Jacobs.
@cardamomaddict there's always a lineup for the fritters. I like them, but if I have to stand in line that long then I'm getting pizza delivery. Whiny millennials be damned!
