Comparing any singular social media service to "Mastodon" is like comparing apples to an orange grove.

They say "Mastodon" but they're talking about the entire fediverse with all of its very different instances, software (including Mastodon), and communities and then compare it to a singular service driven by a singular vision.

It's a very broken analogy.
