A bitter polemic - not a fun read (I wish the book were not necessary & would not resonate so, even from the experience in different countries), but a good one.

"I remember listening and thinking, Blimey, it's rare that someone just comes out with it: 'Antisemitism is a second-class racism'. I thought it would create controversy. I thought that there would be an intense reaction. There wasn't."

@vicgrinberg Baddiel is an active transphobe, closet racist (he did blackface on televisions in the late 90s) and general shit - I would take anything he says, especially any anecdotes, with a huge grain of salt. Antisemitism is a problem on the left and as someone whose not a jew I struggle finding good critiques of it and would like some recommendations - but this dude is red flags all the way

@vicgrinberg genuinely - as a trans person living in the UK I live in fear of this guy and the influence he has in pundit circles. He’s a big vector in misinformation in trans people.

The biggest irony is that he’s friends and promotes a lot of UK gender crits who took US far-right antisemitic conspiracies re trans people (centring around people like George Soros) who basically just shaved off the echoes around the names

@vicgrinberg and those people now use his endorsement to go see a jewish person agrees with me and so I can’t be peddling antisemitic conspiracy theories - its a whole thing sadly
@vicgrinberg sorry for all the missed words etc, my hands literally shake with fear when I think about this guy
