I learned that you should never use a binocular microscope with only one eye.

I'm working with a scientist with a lot of years under their belt but maybe not the best prior training. They seem unable/unwilling to use both eyes. For our compound scope, I know this is a problem because they need depth perception for certain manipulations. Is it also a problem for a compound microscope?

Are there tips I can share to help them?

thx!

They are at least just shifting their head so they are looking through one objective and leaving the unused eye open.

My main concern is this person is planning to move to industry. I'm worried that their supervisor is going to take one look at their one-eyed microscope use and flip out.

Is this as much of a problem as I think, or are companies for the most part using view screens these days?
