This Climate Graphic is quite powerful 👇👇
@dmoser Thats insanely bad. We cant do anything to lower it :(
@TheAustGamerzzzYt @dmoser um, yes we can - we're just collectively choosing not to...
@dmoser where is it from? (also, would you mind editing to add #AltText so screen reader folks can experience it?)

@dmoser reminds me of this xkcd: https://xkcd.com/1732/ - it really puts the time axis into perspective.
Earth Temperature Timeline

xkcd
@dmoser, Within 10 years we can expect the global temperature change will be 3C : gigatons of tundra methane released, continuous global usage of fossil fuels, slight changes in Earth’s tilt & solar pathway, increased freshwater runoff into oceans from groundwater usage & glacier ice melt causing desalinization of global oceans affecting North Atlantic Current, decreases in sulfur emissions, increased water scarcity desertification
/deforestation from less fog/precipitation & extreme heatwaves.
@dmoser we are f***ed 🫣😭
@dmoser this is not a graph, this is a wall
@dmoser very compelling, would be great to get the source info / link so it can be shared with confidence.
@dmoser well we appear to be at the start of the #SixthExtinction.
@dmoser Willing to bet at 3:1 odds that global avg temperatures not 3° warmer than pre-industrial levels by 2100.
@dmoser @cwebber really drives home how completely fucked and hopeless everything is
I don't understand the time labels (2° expected before 2050 vs a shorter time period for 4°?)
