The Supreme Court Doesn’t Care That the Gay Wedding Website Case Is Based on Fiction

It still feels unnerving to some, even those caught in the crossfire, to see injuries invented wholesale and lies accepted by the highest court in the land.

The New Republic

@uspolitics

The court made a sweeping ruling that diminishes the rights of millions of Americans without even hearing from them. They did it for a case that was based on a lie and should never have had standing to go to court in the first place. The reasoning they used is tortured and makes no sense unless you accept the ideologically inevitable outcome of this lying, corrupted, rigged court.

Right now: SCOTUS is tyranny. There's nothing valid there an actual democracy could use.

@uspolitics this just reminded me: I've called my senators about this now

@uspolitics
Truth? Lies?

They're both the same to this GOP and their Supreme Court lackeys.

@uspolitics supreme court also doesn't care about refraining from open corruption, so this probably shouldn't be a surprise. They have made it clear that rules are only for our side.
@uspolitics In #canada the Supreme Court can consider only one form of hypothetical; it’s called a reference, and only the federal government can refer a question on that basis. And I gather the court prefers fact based disputes, not hypotheticals.
@SonofaGeorge @uspolitics the problem with hypotheticals is that they tend to be narrow and succinct where as the real world is messy.
