Lauke@zyz @keul fwiw, let's be clear: JavaScript (that is correct) does not, in any way, "mess" with screen readers, whether they're from Apple or otherwise. there may well be other/nuanced arguments against reliance on JS (such as "some users will have it disabled for privacy reasons, to suppress things like trackers", or "people on rural or otherwise slow connections may have it disabled for bandwidth reasons"), but don't drag in some fictitious "it's bad for accessibility" BS #a11y

Stark@patrick_h_lauke @zyz on it's own it is like the force... can be used for good or evil... unfortunately if people only get trained in coding javascript with no knowledge of HTML or ARIA (which is 99.9% of devs who come out of colleges and universities) it is more likely to have the imperial march attached to it's coding style

The screen reader doesn’t function well with poorly implemented JavaScript, man.

Besides, #UX really should be a thing. How hard is it to embed a document or just provide it text-based version of a #PrivacyPolicy?

@patrick_h_lauke @keul hey man, I am not going to sit here and argue with you.
My experience and that of others who are #LivingWithDisabilities is what matters to me most.
As a former engineer, I recognize the intricacies, but as a retired and #disabled person, I don’t care to troubleshoot somebody else’s mistakes for them.
For me- my problems just happened to go away with JavaScript.
If you want to spend your day wrestling with it, have at it. I’m done!
David Nason@patrick_h_lauke @zyz @keul As a user of #Apple’s #VoiceOver screen reader, I can categorically say that #Mona works brilliantly on both iOS and Mac. In fact it’s arguably the best app out there from an #accessibility perspective. I can’t speak to the privacy and security concerns as I’ve no knowledge there, but have never been given reason to worry about it before.

But, I won’t put anything on my phone that doesn’t pass my #PrivacyPolicy sniff test. 
@patrick_h_lauke @keul the only #A11y #FUD I can think of here is that #developers will sell people a bag of lies that good #design requires the sacrifice of #privacy
