Hi there, here’s a sneak peek of the upcoming free update of Mona 5.4:
1. The notification settings have been redesigned, allowing you to check and adjust settings across all notification categories more efficiently;
2. Mona Pro users will be able to import and set custom notification sounds.

Mona 5.4.4 adds a new toggle for iPhone in Advanced Settings and Shortcuts (named Adjust Settings), which unlocks the landscape mode on iPhone, and works harmonious with the “StandBy” feature on iOS 17. The upcoming Mona 5.5 update will add a highly requested feature: Mastodon emoji picker. The display size of Mastodon emojis will also be optimized.

S★m V★rm★@exchgr @radicalrobit @MonaApp But (I think) only *before* the image is in the compose window? If I long press on the images in your post, yes, I can select text. But if I long press > share to Mona, once the image is in the composer I only get the options to add alt text or remove.
Auto-detecting text and adding it to the alt was (is?) a great feature of Metatext.
@samvarma @radicalrobit @MonaApp oo yeah that would be nice. what i do for now is either save to photos and select the text from there, or go back and edit the post to add the alt text after i post it
@exchgr @radicalrobit @MonaApp Long pressing and selecting text, then going back and editing the post to add the old text is probably the most elegant workaround I've seen for now ;)

The best thing is keeping my reading position *and* syncing this between phone, tablet, and computer.
These two features make Mona *the* Mastodon app for me. There is much more good in it, really a lot, but these two features make the app IMO. Chapeau!

Kyle Borah@MonaApp Not sure if it’s a bug or an intentional choice, but you can no longer swipe down with three fingers. A.k.a. pull to refresh in Mona. It is very annoying. Can you bring this functionality back?

Using it, noticed that Advanced->Space Bar Scroll goes in the wrong direction only. Invert Scroll Direction does nothing.
Also the General->Number of Posts position count misses timeline inversion. Number increases when reaching the end.
Now that timeline is fixed, how about using the same order when looking at people’s profile feed?

@MonaApp Speaking about accessibility: In my opinion, your alt text "App Store Screenshot" does not sufficiently describe the content of the above screenshot. You might consider also describing the screenshot, focusing on the content you are trying to convey with it. In the above case this would, for example, be the release notes. Thanks for your great work, by the way 😊
eyajpng@MonaApp A desperately needed and very simple accessibility fix is to allow alt text to shown simultaneously with the image it describes, both while composing the alt-text and while viewing it on the timeline.
@jepyang Why do you need that on the timeline?
@MonaApp Because the alt-text adds context to the image and vice-versa. For instance, if the alt-text describes a specific detail of the image, it is kind of absurd to be two actions away from being able to actually view that detail (and then two more actions away from being able to finish reading the alt-text). The image and its description are the same content, and should have the option to display together.
(Not everyone who needs/uses alt-text is 100% blind, fwiw.)

@aoeieoa On the Mac, you can enlarge an image by adjusting the size of image window.
@MonaApp Right. But the image fails to display properly when its height is nearly the same as that of screens.

Mike Cohen@MonaApp One small thing that always bothered me: when you share to Mona from the share sheet in another app it switches me into Mona. No other apps behave that way.

My wishlist:
- clicking on link preview thumbnails opens the thumbnail instead of the link
- window on Mac opens on the active display instead of the last, and moving it between them resets its size
- syncing timeline position does not update the topright unread counter
- I know it is a much more complicated thing to do but notifications read status sync would be VERY good (when I read a toot, remove notifications of it on every device I’ve got)
