This pizza box style case is really appealing for a permanent setup. I wanted to use it with a different mobo so I could leave it out and ready for gaming vs. a clunky tower. But... it has a proprietary riser card, and that won't be compatible with other motherboards.

If that riser had an AGP slot, I'd probably use this mobo. Sadly, that's needed for my Win 98 build.

I might turn it into a sleeper DOS machine, though. :)

However, while not as slick to open as the Compaq, I think I have another larger horizontal case candidate that might suit my Windows 98 machine purposes. :)

@retronianne I wonder if that is just a standard pci riser card but with the key on the opposite end. i.e. still pin for pin identical but a different connector to make it so you can't use it in a competitor's box even though it would work fine if the key wasn't there to make it physically not fit the slot...

@lucyllewy It looks like it yeah. :)

Thing is, even if I could finagle it to work properly and leave an AGP slot open, the case isn't tall enough to accommodate the height of an AGP card.

The machine was definitely built for kiosk style purposes. It was manufactured in 2000 with a lean towards affordability and stability. :)
