@Hawkmoon @Green_Footballs you don't spend $44 billion to destroy something. And even if he did, he could just shut it down without those performances.
No, he genuinely wants to turn it around, the problem is:
1. He doesn't have any experience with social media and with software based companies
2. Even with the successful companies like Tesla and SpaceX he actually has competent people running them, and he is just a PR guy. With Twitter he let go those people.
His original plan was continuing x.com, idea that he wanted to do with PayPal before they kicked him out. It supposed to be similar to the Baidu app in China. He was hoping to use Twitter users to bootstrap it. But it doesn't look like it is going well so far.
