Guys... My 12 year old just showed me a TikTok challenge where, no shit, you write your name on a piece of paper without ever lifting up the pencil...

Congrats younger generation. You just discovered cursive. 🤣

I think this kid is messing with me....
@QueenOfCoffee Sadly, I've had students who don't have a signature for this very reason.
@QueenOfCoffee So, the kids are alright, then?
@QueenOfCoffee
And you also discovered personal data breaches.
@nick_appleyard @QueenOfCoffee THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who didn't even think of the "lol they can't write cursive" angle (I mean, I'm 37, I don't think I've written in cursive since 5th grade) and just immediately thought....holy crap, this is literally a challenge to reveal personal information online.....

@QueenOfCoffee My cursive has always been terrible. Hell, my printing is only a little better. But I remember it being taught.

My typing, however, is all right. :)

@QueenOfCoffee @JohnShirley2023 As long as no dotting of Is or crossing of Ts is required. :)

@QueenOfCoffee
I decided this is what the digital #Renaissance looks like.

Re-learning ancient truths.

@QueenOfCoffee If you want to see even WORSE check about that Italian influencer that apparently "make millions" but giving online "lessons" about "How to SPEAK in cursive" , DON'T ASK I DON'T KNOW, I only know there's "huge internet drama" going with it ..
@QueenOfCoffee
When I was little, I thought that cursive was a secret code for adults. Looks like I was right all along.
@QueenOfCoffee But neither capital I nor the . in lowercase i are connected.
@QueenOfCoffee I think mine was the last generation to actually learn cursive in school. Truly the end of an era.
@QueenOfCoffee I'd lose on a technicality. My full name has three "i"s in it.
@QueenOfCoffee
Let’s see the Chinese do that!
@QueenOfCoffee Ah, you mean 'lifting the pencil from the paper while writing'. I had to think about that, even though I learned to write cursive in secondary school 😅
@QueenOfCoffee May the trend spark further interest in this writing form in some of the participants, not because it has a function anymore, but because at this point it's just kind of neat and can be fun (if you're into that kind of thing I suppose 😅 ).
