@KydiaMusic because you don’t have the right plug in? You know the one they talk about on YouTube?

That will solve all your difficulties because it allows so much control over all the parameters and is also somehow one knob simple to use!

Frankly I can’t believe you’re not using it already 😀

@PartHaircut @KydiaMusic Dude, what are you talking about? Everyone knows the original hardware version of that plug-in is way better. Snarky YouTube neckbeard guy told me so, and he’s like never wrong.
@endlessblue @PartHaircut @KydiaMusic I know both of you are joking but this still hurt to read
@KydiaMusic

What helps me here:
Not using reverb but Delays synced to tempo with a bandpass filter pointing to a frequency range where there is room in the mix.

But yes, sometimes reverb has to be there, but in general: it's a mighty weapon, not overdoing it helps!

Quality reverbs (that includes better free ones) have a pre delay. That means the reverb doesn't kick in for x ms. That makes it more "airy". Depending on the BPM I often choose something around 80ms.

Limit it's frequency spectrum (low cut/high cut / "color" ), so it doesn't flood your mix!

Advanced techniques involve sidechaining certain frequencies or it's whole volume down, when other signals have more priority - but personally I am often to lazy for it and it shouldn't be necessary, when they points above are valued.

@KydiaMusic Because, there is no one way. Everything that goes up pushes something down. The digital box that we work in is not forgiving when one bumps up to its edges.

And, I made it easier for myself by being a one man band. To have to mediate three or four opinions, well, I’ve done it, but someone is unhappy at any given moment.

@KydiaMusic to keep those not obsessed enough to do their own mixing and mastering from doing it. Personally, handing those tasks over to someone else means I really don’t have control over the end product, for better or worse.
