If Prigozhin dies by accidental window or herbal tea in the coming days - then it was real. Otherwise, this was a pantomime:

"Wagner rebel chief halts tank advance on Moscow ‘to stop bloodshed’

(...) The decision followed negotiations with the Belarusian leader, Alexander Lukashenko, both Prigozhin and Lukashenko’s press services reported. The terms appeared to include an amnesty for Wagner fighters who had participated in the insurrection, although it was not clear whether Prigozhin would still face punishment for his role in launching what was in effect the country’s first armed coup in decades."

Yevgeny Prigozhin strikes deal to move to Belarus after Putin denounces former ally’s ‘treason’

@NatalieDavis
Watch more gangster movies and you'll get an idea of how the Russian "government" works.

@NatalieDavis The question is Will the Wagner fighters (mercenaries) now get rolled into the Russian military? Because if so then Prigozhin just sold them up the River for his own profit.

@NatalieDavis

I haven't figured out Lukashenko yet. He fell ill in Russia, or died in Russia, or made it back to Belarus in a coma, or fled to Turkey, but is fine and fixed Putin's spat with his prima-donna war lord with a phone call... Why does Lukashenko have Prigozhin's phone number?

It's all very confusing.

No wonder Russian novels are 1200 pages long.
