Please meet #Mentha requienii (AKA Corsican mint).

Sorry about the blurry photo, but these things are really small and it was hard to focus properly with the phone.

@kas @plants how does it taste? Is it good?

We have several different mint plants at our alottment. For a good one is still always a little patch free.

@Monsterklatsch

Thanks for asking.

I didn't know because I just use at as “ground cover” in some of my outdoor pots. It looks pretty and prevents weeds.

But now that you ask I took a bite: It has a fresh and strong mint taste, that might be a tad more herbal than “normal mint”, but that might just be because I tasted the green leaves.

I think it's too small to grow for the leaves. But it excels as ground cover or between cracks in tread stones.

@kas @plants thanks! I will look into it.

@kas @plants knew I heard of it before.

Wiki told me: "This plant is also used in cuisine, most famously as the flavoring in crème de menthe."

So it was on some nice Liquor...
