I see people complain about the wrong types of people using and dominating #hashtags

That's sad because you might be an outsider but have something to share using a certain hashtag.

But I've noticed this sort of thing when using certain tags connected to NATO, US imperialism, etc. Some random dickhead appears with their crying-with-laughter emojis and the logic of: If you criticize the US that means you support [insert official enemy here]!!!

They make certain topics difficult to talk about

They are trolls, right wingers, anti-trans people, supporters of white settler imperialism ...

Basically they are people who are dupes and continue to be dupes, who read billionaire-owned news and lap that shit up, uncritically. (or they "don't read the news!" but get their information from some dickhead website)

Basically, all I'm saying is:

It's not outsiders using hashtags that are the problem, it's shitbags using hashtags to dominate the narrative and silence other voices.
