I have made it to the end of The Power Broker and I realize it was written in 1974 so I shouldn't expect better from it BUT

in the "Debts" section, Caro thanks his wife for typing & re-typing the manuscript and doing interviews and research (incl. "for some months during which I was physically unable to do my own research, she did it for me") and finishes up by saying that he has no idea how to adequately thank her

perhaps, my dude, you could put her name somewhere on the book??
