The US Justice Department has started to turn over evidence to Donald Trump’s legal team in the classified documents prosecution, including grand jury testimony of witnesses who are set to testify for the government at trial, according to a new court filing.

#SpecialCounsel #JackSmith’s office filed a notice Wednesday describing the first set of unclassified documents & other materials that they produced to the former president’s lawyers as the case moves forward in federal court in Florida.

The evidence includes transcripts of grand jury #testimony taken in both DC & FL, copies of closed-circuit TV footage obtained by the govt & copies of interviews of #Trump “conducted by non-government entities, which were recorded w/his consent & obtained” by the prosecution team of #SpecialCounsel #JackSmith.

The interviews include an audio-recorded July 2021 meeting w/a writer & publisher at his Bedminster, NJ, golf club in which #Trump, according to the indictment, showed & described a #Pentagon “plan of attack” that he said was prepared for him by the #Defense Dept. Also turned over to Trump’s lawyers are public statements he made that are referenced in the #indictment.
