I'm always paying attention to what survives these periods of extreme heat. So, on day 2 of excessive heat (and bear in mind, we've had some freaky weather immediately prior too), the outdoor survivors include:

Southern Giant Mustard Greens
Alabama Blue Collards
Tomatoes (all)
Goth Basil (this is a homemade hybrid I got from a local gardener at a plant exchange)

Also, bizarrely, one broccoli plant. There's always at least one survivor I don't expect.

Looking again tonight when I went to water, I noticed that there's some komatsuna also doing ok, but not too happy.

(Tomato varieties doing ok include Sweet 100 and Jolene)

Also I had forgotten about a front window box where some summer thyme actually looks pretty happy.

I like to document what does well in serious heat, in this region (North TX), in hopes that it may help other gardeners here. This can be a rough place to garden and these events are only going to get worse going forward.
