Decided on an OS swap - Windows 10 on the T61 and Haiku on the X230. Haiku flies on an i5
@ActionRetro This is exactly what I'm planning to do with my X230. Didn't want to reformat/overwrite my Debian install so I've a new SSD arriving Monday and throwing Haiku right on it!
@ActionRetro and W10 is slow no matter the hardware so it's a win/win :D
@ActionRetro How about #BunsenLabs #Linux on the #T61?

Because that'll run awesome...

Sadly unless your T61 has a #Core2Duo upgraded it won't run #amd64 / #64bit distros, so you won't be able to use @tails / #Tails on it...

Otherwise do it like @fuchsiii and upgrade the #T61 beyond reasonable specs with something like a 2TB SSD and use it as #WindowsXP or #Windows7 #retro machine...
@kkarhan @ActionRetro @tails The T61 should have a 64bit Core 2 Duo, but its the generation with the Nvidia GPUs that commit suicide after a while...
@ActionRetro Haiku just flies in general. Fastest OS I've used (tied for Mac OS 9) even on my Dell Inspiron 2200 with a 1.6GHz Pentium M.
@ActionRetro What that T61 did to you?
@ActionRetro nice! I had a 2008 T61P. Sadly, I locked myself out forgetting the password & had to use windows recovery to apply a fresh install.
@ActionRetro was thinking of haiku for an old hp core 2 duo laptop... Thoughts?
@ActionRetro Stop you're making me miss my T61! I have a Latitude E6400 as my "core 2 era" laptop but there's something about the styling of the T61 that just.. mmm they really don't make em like they used to
@ActionRetro Haiku tabbing is the only thing that I need :/ Sadly FluxBox doesn't works as good as XFCE :/ Well Hopefully haiku got stable in near future! Thanks for sharing!
