don't use element on anything other than laptop or desktop, if you want to use matrix on a cellphone use fluffychat or saphron

because element will eat battery life and is in general more difficult to use on things that don't have a keyboard and mouse.
It can be used and will be functional, just not as nice as the other two I listed.

For the desktop I'm not aware of any better clients though, element is quite nice.
