I knew this would happen, and Reddit’s response will be “we have to get these subreddits back up for our customers” when what they are really looking for is profits. #redditrefugee #redditblackout #redditMigration #apolloforever https://social.linux.pizza/@yeold/110547085897125290

@pandantic let them. Let them moderate them which will let them see how much free labor the “noise” was giving them. Let them understand that without users who supply content, no one wants to advertise to pure bots and spammers. Since Spez is so hard headed, it’s going to take a while for it to really sink in that the only way that Reddit has seen any success is off the backs of those who he now wants to disenfranchise.
@Notbhavn I agree. And I believe it when Huffman/spez says they aren’t profitable, but pushing quality users and established mods off while running the site like everything is fine will to turn them into tumblr or tiktok: all shiny, no substance. Substance is what people come to Reddit for, and losing it is not going to be profitable since it’s not as easy to use and the app is even worse. I saw on kbin some of the advertising is already starting to be pulled as well. Great timing with IPO soon!
