Printed the #benchy three times but keep getting blobs on one side #3dprintingfail #3dprinting #3dprint
@Nycteris are the blobs in the same place each time? I usually change nozzles when I start getting blobs but I always have a stock of cheap nozzles on hand
@airlynx This is the first time I’m setting up a new printer so if I do need a new nozzle, this was bad out of the box
@Nycteris ah, likely not clogged nozzle then. What material and what temp was it printing at?
@airlynx pla and I just lowered the temp to 190 in an attempt to stop the blobs, but there was no change vs 200 (so far)

@Nycteris Diff filaments (even within PLA) sometimes require a bit of tuning to get just right. Here's a site with some good info on blobs: https://all3dp.com/2/3d-print-zits-tips-tricks-to-avoid-blobs/

@Nycteris Each of those blobs look like where the printer moved to start a new line, the retraction settings might be your friend here :) Is this the gcode file that came with the printer or one you sliced?
@airlynx it’s one I sliced in Cura.
@Nycteris Awesome, definitely crank up those retraction settings by a few notches and try it out. The link I gave earlier should be helpful in finding them (not a pro, I have to search for them each time lol)
@airlynx Thank you so much!!! Do you have any idea what this wave mark is? I was tackling the blobs first because I had a name for them 😩
@Nycteris Looks a little like ghosting but I don't think I've seen it that subtle before ... slowing it down might help. Here's another link from that same site about ghosting: https://all3dp.com/2/3d-printer-ringing-3d-print-ghosting/
