@JordiGH There's also #SuperDungeonMaker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yIPwFqM7HM

Seems like #QuestMaster has #coop support, though. That's nice!

@JordiGH yeah, I'm a fan of stuff like this. But it actually comes from Rogue, since Zelda is basically a roguelike too, just Nintendo-owned and with puzzles 😅
@jake4480 @JordiGH I'm not here to be strict about genre definitions, but I have hard time seeing how Zelda is a roguelike? There's no proc gen, no permadeath, it's not turn-based and was never in ASCII.
@arzi @JordiGH yeah, it's not a TRUE roguelike by any means, it's top down, dungeon crawling, has some of the aspects but to me, seems very clearly very inspired by Rogue. My wife is huge on Zelda games, but not roguelikes though, and I'm the opposite. Not into Zelda but I'm a roguelike fanatic. Let's just say Zelda has a roguelike look? But just inspired by it clearly, in the same way that something like Diablo (something else I love) is clearly inspired by Rogue too but is definitely super different.

@jake4480 @JordiGH I'm not sure top down dungeon crawling can be attributed to Rogue, especially in the way Zelda does it. Ultima III is more commonly cited as an influence on Japanese games.

Diablo was indeed a roguelike and it was even turn-based initially.

@JordiGH I remember a zeldamaker that had to change its name (and possibly art) some years ago, but I'm not sure this is the same one or not.

But I'm certainly ready to dial a BBS to download the shareware version of the latest Apogee release!
