For today's #NameThatCar challenge for #WeirdCarMastodon it is one for the lovers of #Americana, or at least of American cars of a certain age! As I think it's tough, you can have two images for this one, and possibly the weekend to think about it!
Please Boost to share and encourage others to have a guess. Please use a content wrapper for guesses, so they are hidden in the thread.
Good luck!

The answer to the weekend #NameThatCar challenge for #WeirdCarMastodonwe was as a number of you correctly identified a 1970 Thunderbird landau.
I was impressed that one or folks got the model year and someone even found the uncropped photo! Well done if you got it, 4 doors are definitely not what the name Thunderbird conjures for me!

@DazzlingDamo I love all your quizzes, but this one was particularly great. I didn’t know there was a version of the 4-door suicide door Thunderbird without covered headlights! Fun to learn new car trivia from your quizzes.
@DazzlingDamo thanks I had no idea this one existed either!
@DazzlingDamo The door pic makes me think of the early 70s era when the Ford Thunderbird became a four-door sedan. But those headlights don’t seem quite right – they give more of a Plymouth/Dodge impression to me…
@DazzlingDamo I’m still puzzled by this. The door pic says Ford Thunderbird to me, but the headlights don’t. More Plymouth or maybe Mercury. Did Mercury ever make a Cougar version of the suicide-door Thunderbird? If so, I don’t remember it.
@johnniesan that I could not tell you! I have a feeling this particular version of this long running nameplate may have not lasted very long before a face-lift.
@DazzlingDamo
'70-'71 Ford Thunderbird. That's some tricky cropping on the front, nice work.
@DazzlingDamo ‘63 Lincoln Continental with the infamous suicide doors.
@DazzlingDamo I think it’s a 1970 Ford Thunderbird Landau. The sidelight gave it away as our P5 LTD and Landau raided that parts bin. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTeG4znuEtDBw9MX7ZwAiEyEqEwGtsNcJmHwAc8U2zeSFXqkAU9Hv30nndU&s=10
@brett that looks a big old beast of a thing. I am intrigued by the idea of headlamp covers! I can't think of a car here that came with them but they seem cool if risky given how reliable 70's technology was 🤔
@DazzlingDamo it sure was! They took the long wheelbase Fairlane version of the Falcon (116 inches) and added another 5 inches to it. They used three roof panels from the Fairlane and to cover the welds a vinyl roof was mandatory.
