Man i sure wish people in power had done literally fucking anything about climate change in the last three fucking decades
@eniko They're trying to accelerate it, what more do you want? /s
@eniko if they try to blame millennials for this, I am absolutely shoving avocados and toast through their CEO’s urethras.
@Teaceratops @eniko
I remember whole tv ad campaigns centred around getting us kids to plant trees. It was so insulting!
@eniko many of them found a way to convince us that the source of the problem was overpopulation when in fact the the rich pollute way more than the poor.

@eniko They did everything in their power to escalate it.
@eniko The hanging chad that elected Bush prevented the ultimate climate warrior from getting power, Gore.

@eniko Much obfuscatory fuckery. Trouble is:- humans have only evolved to deal with problems under their noses while rolling in the environing bounty of a gracious #Holocene climatic cradle and a resource-rich planet. Understanding the stern challenge of the #Anthropocene will take a leap of faith in science, education and our human fellows. Our religious dogmas and most of the media are completely out of their moral depths.
@eniko I'm fucking sick of this. My whole country is burning and there's still no action

@eniko

Well... I did a thing with a heavy environmental component in 2003-4 and we were definitely looking at the strong apocalypse of +4C. Life-endingly bad.

Now we're looking at +1.5-2C which is, do not mistake me, civilisation ending bad and not good at all.

F'ing around with tipping points is not a good idea but things like committing a billion dollars to green energy is good.

So, the situation isn't hopeless. It's NOT good, but there is still hope. I think.
