I've started writing the final chapter of Profane. Noticing something about writing a final chapter, always kind of feels...surreal, or something. I wonder if it's the inevitability, like I know there's gonna be a big fight or event and it's gonna get scary and angsty and I've got to pull out all the stops and there's so much pressure to wrap up all the threads but at the same time I've done it a million times and my writing is quite formulaic so I know what I'm doing (more or less).
Maybe it's that it's the only point in the story where I 100% know what to write, what's going to happen. Every other point up till then is fluid, changeable, open to the whims of the characters.
It's all downhill from here, and that's weird.
